Good News Everyone! Sex is good for everyone!

This study shows that having regular sex is really good for you and abstaining from it is bad for you. Both men and women show this response. Also, this just in, if you are a man don't go overboard with this sex thing cuz it can pretty much make your dick fall off. But if you are a woman, go nuts. Just use lots of lube and your golden for 24-7 fucking.

Excerpt from “God’s Politics” By Jim Wallis Chapter 6

After the 2002 midterm elections, I attended private dinner for the Harvard Fellows in Cambridge. Our speaker was a Republican political strategist who had just won all the major senatorial and gubernatorial election campaigns in which he was involved. Needless to say, he was full of his success and eager to tell us about it. This very smart political operative said that Republicans won middle-class and even working-class people on the "social"” issues, those moral and cultural issues that Democrats don't seem to understand or appreciate. He even suggested that passion on the social issues can cause people to vote against their economic self-interest. Since the rich are already with us, he said, we win elections.
I raised my hand and asked the following question:"What would you do if you faced a candidate who took a traditional moral stance on the social and cultural issues? They would not be mean-spirited and, for example, blame gay people for the breakdown of the family, nor would they criminalize the choices of desperate women backed into difficult and dangerous corners. But the candidate would decidedly be pro-family, pro-life (meaning really want to lower the abortion rate), strong on personal responsibility and moral values, and outspoken against the moral pollution throughout popular culture that makes raising children in America a countercultural activity. And what if that candidate was also and economic populist, pro-poor in social policy, tough on corporate corruption and power, clear in supporting middle- and working-class families in health care and education, an environmentalist, and committed to a foreign policy that emphasized international law and multilateral cooperation over preemptive and unilateral war? What would you do?" I asked. He paused for a long time and said, “"We would panic!"

Does this guy know his shit or what? I think that is the kind of moral platform that we all had hoped John Kerry would present to the American people. But he didn't that that is just one of the many reasons he lost. PLEASE, democrats read this book before 2008!

--Adam

In the book What's the Matter With Kansas, Thomas Frank takes the same position. He basically claims the same thing that the republicans mobilized and won the election on social issues. However, he makes the claim that democrats have allowed it by declining to talk about economic issues. His point is basically that by refusing to present themselves as the party of the working man on economic issues they have allowed the republicans an advantage in social issues. He also makes the excellent point that most of these issues are debating points in election times and nothing else. For all the talk about homosexuals and anti-evolution and everything else, nothing ever gets done. Also an excellent book for anyone interested in this stuff.

I never liked dark matter anyway

Some scientists at the University of Victoria have reworked the whole "Dark Matter" problem and have come to the conclusion that LARGE amounts of Dark Matter are not necessary to explain the speeds at which large galaxies rotate. It seems that Newtonian Physics work well on small scales like our solar system but break down in the presence of large amounts of rotating masses. The rules of Newtonian Physics are what created the need for dark matter in the first place. Using General Relativity the scientists where able to make the whole thing work out without the dark matter. I never liked dark matter anyway. It stains so easily, you wouldn't even believe how many shirts of mine it ruined.

Someone thinks I can write

I listen to way to many podcasts. Here is my proof. I have a weird compulsion that I don't really know how to control. If you know something I can do please email me.

One of the WAY to fucking many podcasts that I listen to is ]frankwit[. I instant message with one of the guys on the podcast from time to time. Here the thing though, I was listening to ]frankwit[ #25 and a little more than half way into the program Andy starts describing this crazy writing project that he wants to do. It involves going to some cemetery and making up a story about the the dead people that are there. Ok, a little crazy but it might be interesting. Then Andy does on to basically ORDER me to write a story for THEIR show as well. Hmmm..... Andy, do you have any fucking clue how lazy I am? I am to lazy to prepare for my OWN podcast. I'm going to write something for you? Me thinks no. It's not that I don't want to. I just know that I will never do it. Also, in some kind of an effort to get me to do his will, Andy was saying how he has read my writing and he knows that I am a good writer and that is why he wants me to write something for HIS podcast.

Where the hell did that come from? I have never been called a good writer in my entire life. And where the hell have you read my stuff? Here on this blog? How could you classify anything on this blog as good? haha You suck too Chuck. In any case I don't mean to be an ass about it but I just don't understand. I guess the only way to prove that I suck at writing is to write something. So I guess that is what I'll do. Listen to ]frankwit[ #25 if you want to hear Andy giving me an audio BJ.

--Adam

P.S. You know I'll never do it. I'm too lazy.

Damn....I miss Bill Clinton

It really just makes you sad when you hear a former president speak like a normal intelligent human being about government and you realize that if things keep going the way they have been we may never have a present that can speak normally again. Eloquence really goes a long way to helping you forget all about a blow-job.

--Adam

P.S. Yes, I really did shed a tear.

P.P.S Yes, I know I'm a horrible person.

CAADE Episode 57

Chuck and Adam talk about more science and religion crap, Dr. dino, Descates, The music industry in general, then Serenity the movie and some podsafe music and otherwise.

Serenity

I admit it. I have had a recent unhealthy obsession with the Firefly TV show on DVD and the new movie that came out last Friday, Serenity. Every free second I have had in the last week or so has pretty much been devoted to it. I tend to exhibit this kind of behavior from time to time. I get all caught up in some TV show or a book or some crazy shit on the internets. The big problem with this kind of behavior is what happens after the manic obsessive period it over. I guess I'm the nerd equivalent of a manic depressive. I'm not really a manic depressive but when it comes my weird behavior I guess an argument can me made. So that is where I'm at right now. I have been living and breathing this whole Firefly/Serenity things for about a week and a half and I went and saw the movie last Sunday.

Begin lousy movie review:
I so very much wanted to love this movie. I tried will all my soul to fall in love with it. It just didn't happen. That is not to say that Serenity isn't a good movie. It's probly the best sci-fi movie to come out this year. The reason I didn't like the movie more is my own fault. You know how in lost of horror movies they never show you the villain till the very end and it seems like it is going to be really scary when you finally meet the villain but then you do and it's not that scary and the whole thing kinda falls apart? Well, that is pretty much what happens to this movie. There were many aspects of the plot in the firefly TV that were mysteries. This created a general ambiance of mystery in Firefly that was very interesting and kept my attention. Most of the fun of watching sci-fi for me is trying to predict what is going to happen. If I know what is going to happen it's not really fun to watch. Watching Serenity burst that mystery bubble for me. All these burning questions that I had about the characters were answered but it also pretty much ended my interest in this series. I don't know if they can ever get my back on board, not that I don't want to. So, I liked the movie but it pretty much ruined it for me. I guess I should have just said that and left it there. Sorry for wasting your time.

Despotism

I have linked to William Gibson's blog posts many times before and I'm sure that I will continue to do so while he keeps turning up some of the most interesting things on the web.

This is a video that was produced way back in the 40's or 50's talking about what despotism is what the signs are. I have to say that it kinda freaked me out.
