Rolling Stone
So I'll admit it. I still have a subscription to Rolling Stone even though I think that it sucks lately and that they are too pop and mainstream focused. On the podcast I've complained a lot about thier stupid lists and about how they always rate stupid crap and leave out important bands in order to give props to the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix. Well, they finally printed a pretty good list. Their list of immortals is actually decent, probably because the contributors were mostly artists themselves instead of editors. Anyway, check it out the link only has the bottom 50 but it's still pretty good. Adam will be happy to see his beloved NIN on there. I, however, was impressed by the fact that Eric Clapton appeared 3 times. That's right, 3. Once for solo, once for Cream and once for the Yardbirds. The only other artist to appear more than once was Jimmy Page and he was still only there twice. Again, once for the Yardbirds. What do you say to that Trent Reznor?

Nine Inch Nails is listed at number 94. What fucking hell is that? NIN is two places below G 'n R for christ's sake! Eminem is on there at number 82 and guess who he was fucking nominated by? Elton John. This fucking list is totally fucked!!!! Just because they got NIN on there doesn't mean there still isn't a ton wrong with this crap. Fuck Eminem!!

I haven't read the article but I can only assume that the Misfits are nowhere to be found (they never get the props they deserve).
I'd just like to point out that if it weren't for the powerful influence of America's most kick ass ghoul-punks (Misfits), Metallica and countless other metal bands wouldn't be what they became and I'm damn sure that goth-industrial shit like NIN wouldn't be around today. Hell, listen to an old Samhain album. Glen Danzig was Trent Reznor before Nirvana cast-offs adopted that freak as their empty-steel-barrel-beating-in-an-abandond-warehouse freak of choice.
My thoughts, as a pissed off aging punk stuck in the very center of Dumbfuckastan.....
